Hello, ladies. This is Angela’s male counterpart writing to you. I’m nearsighted, so I wear glasses. This means, of course, that Angela is nearsighted too. But she doesn’t like to wear glasses. She thinks she doesn’t look good in them. I tell her that she looks great, glasses or no glasses. I remind her that her best friend Gemma sometimes wears glasses in her photos, and she’s always gushing how beautiful Gemma is. Most important, I point out that if she want to continue going out in public, then she needs to be able to SEE where she’s going. But it’s a hard sell. So I asked Angela if she would allow me to post just one photo with her wearing glasses, just so all of her friends can see for themselves. She agreed, on two conditions. (1) She gets to pick the dress. (2) She gets final approval if the photo. Long story short, this is the dress, and here is the photo. So what do you think? We would really like to hear any feedback you care to share on the general issue of Angela wearing glasses or on this photo in particular. Please address your comments to Angela, and Angela will be the one responding. She especially wants to know what Gemma thinks.

Even as a boy, I thought girl’s clothing was more interesting than boy’s clothing. I dabbled with crossdressing in my early 20’s trying on my sisters’ clothes — but didn’t take it very far because very little fit me. Eventually my attention turned to my career — getting my degree and teaching at a university. So my crossdressing laid dormant for decades. But the itch never totally went away. When I retired, I realized that the time was right to try my hand at crossdressing again. Except this time I got serious. The internet provided me with women’s apparel that actually fit me — and delivered it to my front door. YouTube taught me how to apply makeup and other tricks to feminize my appearance. And I had the time and freedom to experiment. The result is that I was able to create Angela, a woman whose beauty and femininity exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m sorry if that sounds vain, but I’ll never forget the first time I saw her in the mirror, fully realized, staring back at me. What a rush! If only my 20-something self could see me now! I joined Crossdresser Heaven about three months after I got back into crossdressing, and it changed my life. The support and love I feel from this community has given me the confidence and courage to take my crossdressing to the next level. I now go out in public as Angela — something that I honestly thought I would never do when I began my crossdressing journey. So what’s next? Going shopping with my CDH friends, a professional makeover, and a convention or two. Stay tuned.

Dear Angela, Both dress and glasses look great on you. I wear women’s glasses very frequently when I am out and about. I only need glasses to read the fine print and for that I take one pair along in my handbag. All other – I would say 8-10 pairs of simple, inexpensive women’s glasses without any corrective function that I own – are meant to compliment my outfit and to soften my face. Best wishes, Franzi
