Sir or Ma’am?

This is from a dinner party a few weeks ago. My friend Steph is in the pink dress and we're with two GG friends of hers. It was a wonderful night out, but there was one hitch. Twice the male server addressed me as "sir". Honestly, he was very scatterbrained and I took no offense, but it was a little strange feeling. More than anything, It made me feel grateful that about 98% of the people I interact with while ‘dressing’ in public treat me as if I’m the lady I’m presenting. It’s not because I’ve fooled them by ‘passing’, but because they are courteous and respectful enough to address me as the gender I’m expressing. That warms my heart. Still, the second time he did it I wanted to say "Jeez, I know I don't pass, but I put some effort into this! Gimme a ma'am for Chrissake." But alas, I did not.
