Happy Holidays all! Solstice is upon us! I've always loved taffeta holiday skirts-think Bev D'Angelo in Christmas vacation, and that fantastic emerald green one! I got this one home in a trojan horse order of undershirts from macy's some time ago without much thought given to what I would pair it with, so it hasn't made any appearances until now. The blouse is a collectif Ondra, which I was ecstatic to get at half price only to immediately damage it by idiotically putting it in the dryer to steam freshen it after it unpacking it. (Hint about collectif stuff--the cotton/elastane dresses are easy care, but when it comes to knits and blouses--be extremely careful with dryers and irons!) I took it to a dry cleaner, which helped but didnt fully repair it, and its been on a hanger since. And lo, its not as hopeless as I remember it. Which is why I almost never get rid of or return anything, because nothing ever is. This wasn't the ensemble I'd picked to be first today, and I didnt wear it for more than an hour. But it so makes my day when orphan pieces find each other.

I'm a happily married, 40+ suburbanite who spends nearly all of my time doing fairly typically suburbanite things. From the outside I don't think it would look like anything that distinguished, but from the inside, I love seeing the life I have and the people and relationships and places in it all developing and changing. Dressing didn't figure in until well after that story began, so each storyline has been adapting to the other. Although I first dabbled in intermediate school with one of my sisters dresses, I didn't dress at all after that until I rediscovered it about 10 years ago, and have been learning little by little and finding new happiness in it continually as I go. I'll always keep trying new styles and silhouettes, but I feel like the way I dress now is pretty close to the final form it will take--when I have time and space that I can do a complete job of it, and be immersed in it, and only as often as circumstances allow for that. However, in crossdressing as in life, as difficult as it can be for us, whether in long term relationships or trying to find others like yourself, the more you share the more will come back to you.

Gorgeous outfit you have put together Jill. Makeup hair and accessories are perfect. In addition I adore the skirt and blouse together so now I will look for a taffeta skirt to add to my collection
