For those who asked me to update on how things were going…
I had a colonoscopy and upper GI yesterday. It will be a few days before the pathology results come back, but when I woke up from the procedure the doctor told me “You have colon cancer” and the report said I have a “likely malignant tumor in the cecum”.
I was all alone in the recovery room because of Covid and had to tell my fiancee when they wheeled me out the door. I was crying. This is not what we were expecting. We’re supposed to get married on the 2nd of next month. Just a small ceremony and we’re still planning to do it but some of our travel plans may end up getting curtailed. Doctor’s I’ve spoken to since are absolutely appalled at how the results were presented to me.
She has been my rock; she made me an appointment at Moffit Cancer center on Tuesday. I feel like I’m in good hands and I’m going to beat this thing. Prayers and positive vibes greatly appreciated!
