A transgender rose

We are roses that time does not wither,

a cycle that excludes surrender and servitude.

We grew up in chains but we liberated ourselves,

complex rules pretend to beat us,

but we are flexible and we resist hurricanes.

Perennial fighters, incorrigible dreamers,

our goal is to tame the world.

The first line says originally “We live like roses that time does not wither” with the intention of accentuating the cyclical reference.

Gisela  beautifully written.  I too feel like a flower and now I’m blooming. I hope in time my rose is still there and not to wither so I can do a love that has always been growing inside. 🌷
