Hi everyone,
It’s that time of year again. The time for thinking of the ones you love most in this world, but what do you do if you don’t get to spend it with them?
For me, most of my family is split up across the Eastern United States while I am here on the west coast. I miss them, I won’t get to have the sarcasm showdown with my brother (though my niece puts us both to shame), or get to taste mom’s home cooking with recipes handed down through the generations. There is a silver lining to this however, Jen gets to pamper and indulge in being herself. A relaxing soak in the tub with a good book and a glass of wine. Cozying up near the fire, in my silkiest of robes, the cat quietly purring on my lap, sipping rich hot cocoa. This year is my holiday of simple pleasures.
For those of us who may be alone for these holidays, I want you to remember that you are loved and to take the time to love yourself.
Tidings of comfort and joy,

Holly,
Thank you so much for sharing!I want everyone to remember, that even if it seems like “the weather outside is frightful; in here it is so delightful!”
Puns aside, I love that this place has such a warm and kind community. It’s full of people who are here for each other.

To each his own; I prefer it alone. Not much family left, anyway. I do, however, feel bad for you.
I’m annoyed when people decide I shouldn’t be alone. I’m the boss of me! If you invite and I decline, that’s the end of it!
Tidings right back atcha!
Big Holiday Hugs and Kisses,

I won’t be alone on Christmas day, I will spend the time with my step-kids. My own kids, grands & great grands along with other family are spread throughout the world, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Thailand, & the UK. On a personal note, I am struggling with Christmas this year, the 5th without my wife. No decorations because no enthusiasm for it. However, Michaela will have her own time and will enjoy it. Merry Christmas Ladies!
