Today I was at my Torrid job when a customer comes in and was asking about shoes, specially boots. She wanted a special pair to wear to a state wide presentation where she was going to defend Trans issues. About 15 minutes after she left I was off work I punched out of work and was able to track her down on the other side of the mall where we had a nice conversation and I think I found my way into a local Trans organization.
A few minutes latter I ran into a retired co-worker. We had a wonderful conversation, he had no problems with my new female personality He even asked what my feminine name was.
All I can say is you never will know if you don’t stick your neck out there.. Cassie

Cassie,
Would a crossdresser be welcome to shop at any Torrid? I would love to shop at my local Torrid while dressed as Kerri but I’m a little scared about what kind of reception I would get.

Kerri, absolutely, come on in. Torrid is welcoming to all cd’s and trans girls. I was told that many of the girls that work there are members of the lgbtq community. If they are I don’t know and don’t care, they are some of the nicest people I know.

I can say about every single Torrid on the planet, but the chain has a reputation as trans/CD friendly, and just about every post here and other sites seem to support that. Many stores now have corporate policies that support CD/trans people. That said, no doubt there is an employee here and there who has issues. My advise for those who are unsure is to call the store and ask. I did that once in my early days, and the basic response was “don’t be silly, of course you are welcome.”
edit to add that my response was to the post below.
…and also to say, these days I just shop where I want and if I get any push back (which I have not) I would walk out and spend my money elsewhere and they would know it. I have also written notes to corporate offices when I have been treated well, and got good responses back (sometimes including discount coupons thanking me for my comments.)
