I’ve had a bad ‘hair’ week.  On Sunday, I fulfilled a bucket list item and went to a golf driving range completely en femme.  I put on a long ponytail extension before I left the house and by the time I got to the range, I felt it falling off (I forgot to bobby pin it).  So, I tried to fix it in the car. BAD idea.  I made a small problem much worse which then turned into a matted mess and I ended up having to throw it away. I do have my own fairly long hair, so I still had fun, but the looooong pony looked so cute and I was bummed I didn’t get to wear it while I was there. So, be careful with extensions or wigs and don’t try to fix them unless you’re at home with the proper tools!

Then today, I did something really dumb. I’m sending it to the forums to make sure no one else makes this mistake.  I was trying to style my hair with it mostly in a pony and two strands pulled out of the front to frame my face and I was using a comb. I thought, let’s try to curl it a little and I wound my hair up in the comb from past my chin up to about my eyes. BAD IDEA!!! My hair got STUCK in the stupid comb! After trying to extricate my hair for 10 minutes, my wife called and said she’s ON HER WAY HOME, I had to figure something out quick. I literally cut the comb out of my hair with a pair of WIRE CUTTERS!  I lost probably an inch and a half of hair in that area (fortunately, my hair is in ‘Cousin It’ mode, so it’s not that noticeable), but it could have been a LOT worse.

They make combs for curling your hair. Use those and not straight combs. Lesson learned and I hope no one else makes the same dumb mistakes I did!

Oh to have that much hair again…

I did have hair that long about 20 years ago. Although it was never thick enough to be in full cousin it mode. I remember doing some dumb things and breaking a bunch off more than once. “Conditioner what’s that for” 🤪oh well,  live and learn.

I bought a cheap hair curler the other week. The wand with the brush on it…. I thought that I’d test run it before using it…. I curled my hair up in it (cold) and it got totally stuck….. Like you, after 10 minutes, I had to cut it out…. The next one I buy will have the clamp rather than the brush. I’m just glad that I hadn’t plugged it in and got it hot!

OH NO!!  I hope you didn’t have too much in there like me.  That was my saving grace even though it still irritates me for doing it  🙂
