Help, I'm new to this website. Wanting to modify chat and forum name

Like the title says, I’m new to this website, and my first look around I noticed some members just have their  first names displayed when they make a post. Where the configuration settings to modify that?

The settings for which you are looking are in your profile or account settings.  There you should be able to change you name and how it displays.
