My growing social circle

Hi Everyone,

I want to thank all of the women in these forums for being such a positive influence.  It has made all the difference in the world to come here and to have your support and to read about people who are feeling very similar things to me.  I want to give you all credit for helping me broaden my social circle in real life as well.  When I started coming here I had one female friend who knew Michelle and helped me dress.  She’s been great and through her I met a man who I had a brief relationship with as Michelle.  While that relationship is over, I learned so much about myself from it.

You all gave me the confidence to come out to my mother and then to introduce her to Michelle.  While she is still working on some things in her head, she has been so loving and accepting of me.  Recently she introduced me to one of her sisters as Michelle and her sister/my aunt has joined the Team Michelle support group.  These are women who I have admired my entire life who are now relating to me as a woman.  It’s like a dream come true.  I can’t even begin to describe how happy it makes me.

Thank you all for your support and I hope that you are able to be as happy as I have become as I spend more and more time as Michelle.

So happy for you Michelle. It is a relief to come out to family and not to have to hide yourself, and happy that your family is so accepting. I agree that reading everyone’s story here at CDH is so helpful in pushing one’s self to get out and try the next thing.
I have been so lucky too, and have shared some of my story here. Like a couple of weeks ago I went to a family get together with my 4 brothers and nieces and nephews. I went right after work at Torrid and was i full Cassie mode. We had a very nice visit # of my 4 brothers accept me the 4th no??? Also got an invitation to call my sister-in-law any time I wanted to talk!!

I am happy for you Michelle. It is so hard to come out but once done it is amazing how telling one person gives that confidence to assess who else you know that might be okay to tell. Then, as in your experience, someone may ask if it is okay to introduce another to the circle and it will go on for you I am sure.

Lucky you Michelle, I’m so happy for you and all the good things that have happened to you. I agree we are all lucky ourselves, to be in this loving home and family. I too feel much stronger about myself and the journey that I’m on and most of that is because of the rest of you, knowing that your out there standing with me.
