I’m not as “out there” as I’d like to be, but I feel like I’m getting there…we all do these things in our own time.

Lexi, that was great and touching. You look lovely, I think you are out there.
Eileen, I understand where you are coming from and I would rather be quietly going about the day in anonymity. However all the time there are laws and hostility preventing our way of life there is a need to educate and help people understand that Trans isn’t anything to fear and to stop prejudice so that maybe there would never be the need to have such a day.

And over here in the U.K. the government has a botched law being passed to stop the forced conversion therapy for Gay and Bi but not Trans? I understand the need in children and vulnerable adults to assess them properly, professionally and with impartiality but where is the sense in excluding Trans completely? Does anyone doubt the need for a TDoV?
I think you nailed it. It’s important for cis folks to know we are out there, and deserve to be respected and treated equally. And someday maybe a day like that won’t be necessary. But at this moment, trans people are under attack everywhere…
