okay girls, I think most of us have been there – not feeling very femme or just plain discouraged – and you purge all your dressing up collection (sad face)
      I know I have …
So, what one item that you purged do you really, really wish you could have back..?

for me it was a slate blue cardigan, adorable pearl buttons (sigh!)

I’ve purged many of my one piece swimsuits twice before. Both times is because I was with a girlfriend and was trying to force myself to not want to wear one anymore….and to lighten my stash to make less to hide. There were a few that I wished I hadn’t gotten rid of….can’t really think of one in particular because it was actually several.

Good topic, Julie, and I have several items which I wish I had not purged.

Moreover, in earlier years, I went through several purges.

However, in giving an exact answer to your question, it was September 1984, when I was stationed in Wahiawa, Hawaii, during my active duty Navy years.

My sponsor required me to dress up like a prostitute for the Chief Petty Officer initiation day ceremonies.  I had been cross dressing mostly in secret since childhood, so I had a collection of female clothes.

The item in question was a beautiful pair of patent burgundy-color platform sandals.  They had chunky four inch heels and were incredibly comfortable to walk and stand in, mostly because of their wide width and the chunky heel.

At the conclusion of the initiation, my faulty reasoning was that I was now a Chief in the Navy, and therefore, I should not and would not be cross dressing anymore.  Thus, I trashed that beautiful pair of platform sandals, along with all of my female wardrobe.

As we all know, and I hear all the time in our support group,  some time later we are very regretful for having purged, and I was!  Several months later, the urge to cross dress returned, stronger than ever.

I tell my wife to this day I am sorry to have trashed those beautiful platform sandals.

Fast forward to 2019, perhaps that is why I have such a collection of shoes in my wardrobe?

I can’t say I have ever purged any clothes, I’m still in the early stages of the whole CD clothes collection. I did lose a necklace with a “S” on it. Was a little bummed about that.

Right now I’m regretting the rainbow-swirled blue, mermaid ball gown.

Bought it really cheaply, posed for a few selfies, then out it went with most of my stash when we moved.

I was terrified of my wife discovering – I swore it’d be me telling her, not her catching me.

Now I’ve told her, and I plan to party hard on 30th November in Brighton, I so want a nice ball gown – but can’t find anything to touch that one sub £500, and even then, they’re poor approximations.

      It was a genuine steal.

      *sighs*

      Never purge, ladies!

      Love Laura

I’m with Samantha  I read enough good advice from you girls that I understood that purging seems to be a cyclical thing.

That and I haven’t lost the pink fog enough to want to get rid of my pretty cloths.

I bet the cardigan was pretty Julie.

I had  the ‘urge to purge’ last summer and donated most of my winter coats and boots to the charity shop,

The next time I needed to wear boots I found the only pair that were saved had a broken zip!

      Hope it don’t snow…..Sally xx

    • #249286

I threw away over a hundred different lipsticks. I have tried to replace them but I can’t find some of my favorites. Oh bother.

    • #249300

I’ve purged a couple of times in the last few years.  They have been more like shedding a skin – each time I’ve built a new wardrobe and improved my look/style.  Looking back there are only a couple of items from before my last purge which I would like to have now – a wine red cardigan and a black&white houndstooth skirt.

When I was in college I had my own place. I dressed everyday at home and often went out to parties and social events.

After college, except for pantyhose I wasn’t dressing anymore. I donated most of my clothes except for a few items I really loved and couldn’t bear to part with.

About 8 years ago I began dressing again. I bought a lot of new clothes. Some of them I never wore anymore as my wardrobe grew and improved. I donated those I wasn’t wearing.

I say never purge. Upgrade? Sure. And donate the clothes you no longer wear.

This is a tough one, I’ve purged a couple of times and got rid of thousands of dollars in clothes, shoes and accessories. The one thing I would love to have back was my body suit. It was like a body stocking so you didn’t get hot and had pockets built in with hip/ bum pads and different sizes of breast forms to suit my mood. I got it in Amsterdam and have looked on line but can’t find one like it. Plus a few pairs of boots, I think I have a boot fetish, just love them, so sexy.

Sometimes I get the feeling to clean everything out.  I think it is mostly thinking someone will find things.  So there is that.  It gets on my mind sometimes.  No big deal though.

I have not purged in many years and anything I had would also be out of style. I’m just so Thankful to have a chance to transition I can’t think of anything material I miss. However, I wish I had never cut my long, curly, thick, blond hair I let grow for 20 years.

    • #251869

Hmm. Tough question but a good one. There was a white slip that I loved to sleep in. There was that brown Spandex leotard I loved so much but I guess the thing I most regret purging is the one thing my wife ever gave me, an adorable green dress she no longer wanted. What was I thinking? Girls, don’t purge. You’ll only regret it.

I’ve lost count of all the times I purged, and every time I felt a loss weeks or months later.  But no more purges for this girl!  My current wardrobe will wear out or get upgraded.  There are a few items I miss from my last purge: a couple of Ralph Lauren cocktail dresses, a very sexy Va Bien bodysuit, a few bras from Elomi and Chantelle, and a few pairs of patterned tights from Wolford.

I’m fortunate I haven’t purge  anything so to speak , for me just being new I’m still working on my wordrobe and anything I do decide to get rid of usually heads to thrift shops hopefully for others to enjoy. Learning to better my styles and fits becomes no problems for discarding the old me. But I did get rid of a top that I now could of still used. My biggest concerns though is where to find room to store my  future purchases. 🌹

I still miss a lot of things I lost in my last purge. The worst has to be my pair of Dresstech hip pads. Anyone who has shopped for them or bought them knows they aren’t cheap… but that’s how totally sure I was that I was done with cross dressing… yet the urge still came back. I will remind myself of that if I ever feel like purging again, which I doubt very much I will now.

Ironically they were kind of what drove me to purge in the first place. Yes there were practical arguments I should toss them… they were way too big, they did give me borderline comically large hips, they were a pain to get on and hard to move in, they did take up tons of space in my closet… but damn it I loved how I looked in leggings or fitted jeans with those things on! I think I’ll buy another pair as soon as I can afford them.

I am slowly starting to replace what I lost then. I have a nice collection of skater skirts going. And one silver lining is that instead of the random collection of tops I had, most of which didn’t fit that well, I now have a collection of T-shits and bodysuits that all fit great and pair really well with my skirts!

Another silver lining is that not all of my stuff went in the trash and was a total waste. The clothes and shoes that were still in good condition I handed over to my very understanding mother to add to the family donation pile and take to a goodwill store. So hopefully some girl somewhere is enjoying them 🙂

Too many things, Julie. I’ve purges so many times that I cringe even thinking about them. Of all of my castaways I truly regret letting go of a pair of black, Nine West knee high boots with 3 inch heels. The fit and silhouette were just right and I feel like I can never replace them.

    • #252197

in my last purge i got rid of a lovely pink with black lace corset with a coordinated skirt about 8 inches more for frill and coordinated side toe bikini panties.  i really miss that outfit it made me feel so sexy 💋

Hi Julie. My purging regret is a denim above the knee skirt that was soft from many washings.  There was a blue-green tartan pleated mini skirt that always made me feel naughty when I wore it.   My biggest regret is a sweater with the name Karley on it with a pink flower.  I think the original Karley was a very sweet girl.  Whenever I wore it , I felt the same.  My man side said to get rid of that so this nonsense will stop……..what do men know?  It cost only one dollar at a rummage sale, but I would pay much more to have it back  because it was soft and I felt like a sweet girl when wearing it……and it had my name on it!!

    • #252218

ah yes, great topic.  i did not realize the purge was so common!

yes, i cringe thinking about my last purge now.

got rid of everything, threw out the wig.  gave away my pantyhose to another boy LOL.  but biggest regret is my shimmery red party dress.  🙁

Hi yes purging often feels good for the soul, I do it if I meet a prospective girlfriend as I feel guilty and yes ashamed. The compulsion to dress and the fact I love to look attractive as a lady means I always bring Sandra back somehow, which means more shopping but at least I keep up to date with fashion. The outfit ( cheating here as more than one item )that I regret losing was my ex- wife’s cute short navy blue skirt with a wide lapel navy blue bodycon blouse this looked fantastic and was lovely to wear.

    • #252806

My last purge was when my relationship status was changing. I was about to be married and thought I had to “clean up my act”. Out went everything. What I miss most are some wonderful lace leggings and lace body suits.

Eventually I started to replenish and that led to an honest talk with my wife. She supports me but probably will never understand this part of me. It is a work in progress.

    • #252815

There are a few items of clothing I wished I could get back, but their are heels that I would kill to have back. LOL!

I have been cross dressing for about five years, but during that time, have purges my outfits three time. I always go back to cross dressing after purging. I finally accepted the fact that I am a cross dresser and should enjoy being one without further purging.  I owned some nice skirts that I purged; I now regret getting rid of them.

Hi, everyone. Giselle Petra Jonson here. I deeply regret purging a short, pinkish, crinolin mini that I had permanently “borrowed” from my niece. Since then, I have accumulated an extensive wardrobe of femmewear and venture out en femme regularly.  I love dressing and have no impulse whatsoever to purge.

The only items I regret losing to a purge were a patterned chemise and a crimson cami although I was also disappointed that a pair of Mary Jane shoes went in a purge before I had managed to wear them.

I’ve only seriously purged once although Over the years I’ve weeded out the crappy stuff. Most of that was catalog purchases of slightly smaller sizes than I should have bought.  I was still figuring out womens sizes…and mine. I can remember the night in my apartment very vividly still when I purged although it was some years ago. I was a little sad. My 2nd marriage was quickly approaching after 3 years of being single and I hoped to make a clean break. Ha! Soon after the wedding I did tell my wife of my desires and she is a little ok with it so over time I started again. But I remember back then vaguely an attractive blond wig, a yellow sheath summer dress and a fair amount of lingerie and nylons a few pairs of shoes … all of it mostly a size or two too small

      Great topic Julie…

I’ve had a few small purges and 3 major ones over these many many years.  And, I absolutely regret each time that I did.  The items I miss the most are a couple pair of clip-on chandelier earrings that were absolutely gorgeous and a pair of calf-high black patent boots with 5 inch stiletto heels.  So sad.

Guess I am a typical girl when it come to shoes. my last purge (and I will never do it again) was about five years ago. my BBC biggest regret was getting ride of the many pair of heels I had.  I had a darling link pair that I loved

    • #268513

For me it’s a Warner’s Body from the 1980’s it has lace around the bust and legs and spaghetti straps. It was a lovely shade of deep red. I found a photo of one recently which I’ve saved. I wish I could wear it again, it was a lovely piece of lingerie. Lizzie.

Oh I have so much I have purged over the years..I had a really pretty short black skirt wit matching waist jacket. White lace blouse and camI. Fake pearl necklace with matching bracelet . Black leather shoulder bag and pair of black leather heels. I looked hot. I do not remember what trash bin they all went in. It’s just horrible and a waste what we all do when we go into the denial mode. I loved that outfit .luv Stephanie
