I first tried (I am in the UK) clothes from Amazon “Ex-High Street” sellers, which sell shop overstock / returns with cut labels so they can’t be returned to the High Street retailer.   I have received H&M Skinny, M&S Super Skinny, and M&S Jeggings this way to try different styles cheaply.  I suspect you may have similar sellers in the US.
