I never did sports, just wasn’t any good at any of them, poor coordination perhaps?
On the other hand I rode motocross motorcycles like a mad man! I just never had the money and support needed to do anything with it. I used to ride with a guy that was at the top of the standings in the state. He mentioned more than once that he was amazed that I could keep up with him on my ten year old, well abused dirt bike and he wondered what I could do with a decent motorcycle and some training.
It wasn’t unusual for me to spend 10-12 hours a day riding motocross, day after day. I loved it. Probably one of the reasons I was good at it was the time I spent with it.
