In any community there can be a great deal of posturing and people trying to set themselves apart or above. It’s BS designed to make themselves look and/or feel good. The reality is that those same people would be really appalled if someone were to fling that BS at them. Once you know what is happening, the only sensible thing to do is ignore it and realize the lengths that people will go to in order to make themselves feel important…
