For me I think my mother had a lot to do with it.   I was born way before ultrasound technology so my mother had no idea I was going to be a boy when she was pregnant.   But apparently she and most people she knew thought I was going to be a girl.  But as the story goes, I popped out and the obstetrician said “It looks like another football player” (she already had one son).   I really think she was disappointed – my whole life she never stopped reminding me that I was supposed to be a girl and would have been named Monica, hence why I chose my femme name.    And if I could without worrying about any negative consequences, I would present as a female 24/7.

Monica
