This is another dark poem. Read at your own risk.
- Every little jab
- Bruises my ego
- Every little poke
- Pierces my skin
- Every little dig
- Hurts deeper and deeper
- Every insult hurled
- Leaves me crippled and weak
- Why was I picked
- To deserve everyone’s ire
- Why was I chosen
- To walk in the fire
- I never asked
- To be a punching bag
- With every hundredth cut
- My brilliant smile starts to fade
- What doesn’t kill you
- Makes you stronger
- Then why is it
- My life I no longer desire
- After a thousand little cuts
- I lose sight of a bright future
- Like a diamond in the rough
- Unpolished, unshined, stressed and losing luster
- Cold, callous, cynic and depressive
- This is what is left when you finally relented
- A shell of myself
- Forgetting what I am suppose to be
- Wondering why you stopped
- The abuse, torture, torment was starting to be comforting
- I picked up the mantle and started cutting me
- Because it felt empty being pain free
- Time has passed
- The pain has subsided
- The thousand wounds are still open
- As I’ve come to realize
- Recollecting the past, poring salt on the sores
- Reimagining the pain I begin to feel
- How many more cuts must I endure
- So my thousand scars can finally heal

Thank you Tiff. Since coming to this site, I have been writing again which really helps therapeutically. I wish I didn’t always write so deep, dark and depressive but it is the writing that comes easiest to me. Write what you know, well…

I am going to see if I can find some of my older writings when I was doing lyrics for garage bands I was in and post them up.

Thank you Tiff, sometimes we forget that dark is also beautiful if you put the right light on it.
