That cute little poem reminded me of an early 70’s Donny Osmond song, Lollipops, lace and lipstick, with a little refinement, summed up my life then….

Doo be doo de doo doo doo wop, everybody to his own kick.

Doo be doo de doo doo doo wop, Mine is lollipops lace and lipstick.

When I was a kid , I really fell in love with a girl on my bock,

I tried and tried to be like her, but she only liked lollipops,

I tried in every way I knew to help me start, until one day I gave her a lollipop and cupid shot his dart.

Doo be doo de doo doo doo wop, everybody to his own kick,

Doo be doo be doo doo doo, mine is lollipops, lace and lipstick.

Now I am in my teens my tastes were changing fast, From button and bows to a make up nose to lipstick, ribbon and lace.

I’ve got a wiggle in my walk and giggle in my talk all covered in ribbons and lace.

Doo be doo be doo doo doo wop, everybody to his own kick.

Doo be doo be doo doo doo wop, mine is lollipops, lace and lipstick.

As I grow up I’ll learn to love the gentle touch of her clothes

But there’s one thing I’ve got to do, taste the lipstick on my lips,

Then one day I’ll say goodbye to all the boy , It’ll be laughs not tears,

For someday this girl will be my life with lipstick on my face……..
