I’m thrilled to be here, both for support and to support all of us “birds of a feather” Been living the underdressed life all of my life.  But, and there’s always a but, I just had acrylic nails applied 3 weeks ago and there’s no hiding them. I’ve had my ears pierced for years and wear 4 gold rings.  I ‘ve also started to wear more feminine danglers, all the while being underdresed.  Been in the closet all my life but I guess the door is starting to open. A problem with being closeted, I’ve never worn makeup or hair.  My small town’s two barber shops shut down during covid so I started to let my hair grow.  Its now down to just below my shoulders.  I usually wear it in a ponytail because I don’t know how to style it.  And finally, I have a mustache which I’ve had forever.  Shaved it off one time, regretted it and stared growing it back the next day.

So just to let you know, I’m a wreck dressed in bra, panties, skirts, dresses, etc. in my house.  I still underdress every day to go out and wear nightgowns for bed.

Hello, Lynda. Welcome to CDH. You have come to the right place for support and advice. All of the ladies are willing to help you with your journey and your questions. I am 55 and have been dressing for awhile. There are alot of websites that you can use to help you learn how to apply makeup. After you watch them it is a matter of actually doing it. Practice makes perfect.
As for your hair I would look at different styles that ladies are using. Look at the shape of their faces and picture your face. Most ladies go to beauticians and there may be a style that you will like. Unfortunately most barbers do not know how to cut womens hair. Use the ladies in your area to help you to decide and if possible go to a beautician to help you to learn a nice style for you.
      Hope this helps. Hugs, Allysa

Hi Lynda, and welcome! Don’t ever think you are too old to enjoy your feminine side. I am 75 and am fully enjoying being Paulette. I have only been back crossdressing for about six years, after a long absence. When I returned I decided to be upfront with my wife and family. I was surprised how well it went. I also got very serious about makeup, And while YouTube tutorials are helpful, I have discovered nothing can take the place of sitting in front of a mirror and practicing until you find just that “perfect” look. I think if you do this you will be pleased with the results. Hugs, Paulette.

      Hi Linda

Welcome to CDH, a large and welcoming family. It’s a pleasure to meet you here.
Here you will be able to exchange opinions and information and find support to go forward in your enfemme adventure.
Have fun participating in the forums and questionnaires.
Here no one is judged, but always welcomed with a warm embrace.

I’m Greta, a 56-year-old CD/TG person (I’m taking my first steps in HRT); with a life a little complicated by having to hide my gender identity for too long ….. when I’m alone at home and I know I have no guests I’m Greta, if I’m at work or I have guests at home I’m Greta dressed in unisex clothing outwardly like Mr. Antonio but wearing my women’s underwear of course.

Hello Lynda welcome to CDH I am glad you have shared a part of who you are and found us and made the step to become part of a family that is welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and supportive. While we are all similar and have many of the same desires we all differ on our goals or public expression and our differing level of personal experiences. I encourage you to explore the many forums, topics, polls and member biographies found here as there are a wide range of members all over the spectrum of feminine expression or those on the path to transition and those that have. There are also links to websites that have products and services that may help you on your own personal path of acceptance and self expression. Ultimately it is a place, home, or world were you can feel feel comfortable and confident in who you are; as being who you truly are as your authentic self of you being a man, a woman, or expressing your feminine desires feelings and or qualities. I am happy you are here and have made a choice to accept this part of yourself as self acceptance is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. You can’t expect others to accept you if you don’t accept yourself all of you. As you are sharing a part of your authentic self here on CDH it ultimately lifts some of the burden that you may be feeling which many of us have carried for what seems like a lifetime you are not alone. I am happy you have made the step to be here. Welcome!

I only shave my mustache, goatee, or beard when I dress.

      Hugs April

Hi Lynda! Welcome. There is no “right or wrong” way to go about what we do. Everyone moves forward at different speeds based on their individual circumstances. You found the right place to be with like minded sisters.
