Hi everyone. I’m so glad I found this site, I’m loving the positivity, warmth and encouragment that seems so abundant here.
I started crossdressing in my late teens when my girlfriend decided to give me a makeover and dress me up. Her clothes weren’t the best fit, but the result was good enough that I immediately decided that this was worth doing again. She helped me buy my own clothes and for a few years it was a regular thing at home. Unfortunately we split up and the relationships that followed were very different, but I feel lucky to have come to crossdressing in this way as my first experiences were with my SO and I knew that it was possible to find acceptance.
I’ve spent a little over 20 years only being able to dress occasionally and never going out, until just after Christmas when I broke up with my partner who I’ve been with for most of that time. After picking myself up after the break up, it dawned on me that I can now crossdress whenever I want to and start to build up a prope wardrobe, so I decided to hit the ground running.
Wanting to be ble to fit the clothes that I like gave me the motivation to lose weight and get back to the gym, and over the last couple of months I’ve lost around 50 pounds. I want to lose about half as much again and then start rebuilding my wardrobe, so hopefully by summer I’ll be there.
I’ve been working in Hong Kong for almost 20 years and there doesn’t seem to be much of a CD scene there, but maybe I just haven’t met the right people. It would be nice to find out I’m wrong. I reckon I’ve got 1-2 years left in Hong Kong before I return to the UK permanently and it would be nice to be able to explore my new found freedom to crossdress with some friends.
Saying that, I’m visiting family in the UK at the moment and have had an amazing time, using a couple of dressing services for the first time, doing a photoshoot and going for a walk and coffee by the Thames – out as Lydia for the first time. Before I fly back to HK, I’ve got a makeover and dinner in Soho booked, so one more adventure in the near future. I’ll be back in the UK in summer for a few weeks, so hopefully there’ll be more opportunities then if I don’t find anything in HK.
As well as looking to create a good wardrobe, I’m also working on my makeup skills. A couple of years ago, I did my own makeup for the first time and, although my efforts were rather basic, it made a huge difference to the finished look and at that point I was hooked. I haven’t had much chance to practice yet, but there’s plenty more opportunities coming and during my redcent makeovers I was able to get some pointers.
I’m looking forward to meeting many of you online, and perhaps even meeting some of you face to face one day. And thanks again for all the welcome I’ve received here and for all the positive vibes.

As a new sister and family member you are welcomed with open arms into our home as well as yours now also.. Well girl there is a wealth of knowledge here to access and learn from so look around and ask many questions of these wonderful ladies here telling there stories about there journeys down the femme road they are on.. When you get comfortable with us please join in with a story or two about the life and times of Lydia as she travels down her own girly path in life.. Now girlfriend as for making friends here there are so many ladies from all over the world like myself here in Montana USA to build long lasting friendships with and best of all girlfriend we are just a simple click away from you.. Hi Lydia welcome to CDH it’s nice to meet you we are like one big happy family on here so don’t be shy come on in and join the family, I’m a mature crossdresser I’ve been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister’s lingerie on I’m still in the closet to my wife, I’m a UK girl too I’m up in Shropshire the only people who know i dress are the girls on here, I’ve yet to have the pleasure of going out En Femme ,, I would love to attend a venue somewhere and meet up with like minded girls,

Hi Rozalyn. If you can find a reason to slip away to London for a couple of days then there’s plenty of places that could do a photoshoot with you, just search online. The main thing is booking in plenty of time as they tend to be busy.
Many also do escorted trips out shopping or for a meal/drink. I was out as Lydia for the first time on Monday. When I was getting ready I was nervous, but I received a ton of reassurance and I looked good, added to which the lady providing the service knew exactly where to take me. We got in the car, drove to a quiet but very nice stretch of path by the Thames and went for a stroll. I passed a few people on the walk, no one reacted to me, and then we sat down by the river to chat. By the time we turned round to walk back to the car I’d pretty much forgotten that the day was any different.
Next we sat outside at a cafe in Tower Hamlets and had coffee and cake in the sunshine. The cafe staff were really kind and complimentary and I began to really enjoy myself. After that, we went back to the studio, put on heavier makeup and tried on a bunch more outfits.
I hope you find the opportunity to get what you’re looking for. I waited 20 years, but it was well worth the wait.
Hi Lydia, that would be wonderful if i could get a makeover and the person who did it took me out for a walk I’m sure it would put me at ease, it’s just getting past that first step, I’m not sure if i could get away at the moment there’s a lot of things I’ve got going just now, I’m hoping that maybe some time later on this year or early next year i might be able to manage something, I’m retired and so is my wife so we are practically joined at the hip just now, I will let you know how things turn out X

Hello Lydia welcome to CDH I am glad you have shared your photos and a part of who you are in your intro and bio. In having found us you made the step to become part of a family that is welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and supportive. While we are all similar and have many of the same desires we all differ on our goals or public expression and or level of personal experiences. I encourage you to explore the many forums, topics, polls and member biographies found here as there are a wide range of members all over the spectrum of feminine expression or those on the path to transition and those that have. There are also links to websites that have products and services that may help you on your own personal path of acceptance and self expression. Ultimately it is a place, home, or world were you can feel feel comfortable and confident in who you are; as being who you truly are as your authentic self of you being a man, a woman, or expressing your feminine desires feelings and or qualities. I am happy you are here and have made a choice to accept this part of yourself as self acceptance is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. You can’t expect others to accept you if you don’t accept yourself all of you. As you are sharing a part of your authentic self here on CDH it ultimately lifts some of the burden that you may be feeling which many of us have carried for what seems like a lifetime you are not alone. Being here helps not only yourself but helps others gain acceptance and confidence I am happy you have made the step to be here. Welcome!

Hi Lydia, and welcome. You look fabulous! I only wish I had been actively crossdressing when I lived in London. I realize now what a CD friendly place it can be. Then I see this posted in the forum. After reading your profile, this is a nice addendum. Still being just 400 miles or so from where I was born, its something to see someone so traveled as you. I don’t think you would be more blessed to be in the royal family. But along with pretty, you write well. I look forward to more comments and replies you will grace us with.

I’ve been away from dressing for 35+ years but have a professional makeover booked in June. I’m just so excited! I’ll be nervous, a bit embarrassed, absolutely thrilled and confused all at the same time. No doubt I’ll bore you all with the details, although I’m not sure I’m ready to post pictures.
