      Hi everyone

I recently found a local dressing service and have started thinking about giving it a go. I’m nervous about going through with it though even though I think it’ll help me fully embrace enjoying crossdressing. Plus I thought it’d be good for me to talk to people who have experience with crossdressing and cross dressers in person. Any thoughts and ideas about if I should give it a go would be greatly appreciated:)

Go for it. I had one and the results were amazing. My wife did not recognize me in the photos. $250 for five hours and three complete changes. 100 photos. Unfortunately the service closed down (Bethlehem, PA) because of Covid and as far as I know remains closed. Can’t find another one. Best, Marlene.

      Hi Jessy,

Yes, give it a go. Nerves are understandable. I was a bit nervous when I went to my first one, but they were soon dispelled with a friendly cup of tea when I got there. A great experience, and it won’t be my last.

Jessy, go for it… the nerves will settle down and you will relax as they pamper you with the makeover from head to toe.. that is how I got “hooked” on my first “little black dress”, LBD… and I purchased my first wig…my only regret, I changed to my male alter ego.. my next time. Will be Leonara stepping out for awhile afterwards… Jessy we are all looking forward for your experience at the “local dressing service”
      Have fun, warmest regards, Leonara

Go for it Jessy!  You’ll have a blast and learn a lot.  Bring your list of questions with you about makeup techniques so you cover everything you want to.

Don’t and I say Don’t pass UP the chance . You will have a blast. I have had 4 and each one was AWESOME. Last one in Denver full makeup, Leather Skirt, see thru silver top, an after photos she took me to a fine dining restaurant, and rooftop Bar with a Tran friend of hers. A night I will always remember.

Yes, you should do it, it is a very fun and enjoyable experience. Yes, you will be nervous, though you needn’t be, but that is just our nature. The person providing the service has seen it and done it many times, so no worries on that account. Nobody else needs to know, but you may want to plan beyond the service and consider going out afterward. I wish I had planned better. I did go out partially dressed and made up, but I wish I would have gone out fully dressed and made up since Zoe did a wonderful job. I have a picture in my gallery. I plan to do it again in a couple of months and do a real photo shoot as well, then go to a play or some such event.

Absolutely go for it. I did it and it was a life changing moment!

I did a Pro full transformation with makeup and clothes. Honestly it was the Best thing I ever spent money on for Sandy.

Of course you could look at it in the negative aspect that it sunk the hook so deep I am now addicted 1000% do my Sandy side…LOL  FYI< I do not think or can not even consider anything negative about my experience

Check out photo sessions geared toward crossdressers. They do makeup and have their own wardrobe. Get pictures in different outfits. Done services also offer chaperoned outings.

If you go, to a local service and you must… you will never, ever, regret it. Due to my personal circumstances, starting with a career that eventually entailed lots of interstate and overseas travel, I attended dressing services as far apart as Melbourne and Toronto, Canada and several in the UK.

There’s nothing quite like or as good as having your lingerie on  and breast forms attached, complete with dressing in  a lovely silky dressing gown, (or cosy one if its cold) and having a skilled artisan of a make up artist turn a male into a gorgeous looking female. It’s one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experience a “gurl” can have. Add hair, outer clothes and shoes, (heel height your discretion) and then just soak it all up.

Even if the world outside disagrees with your inner feelings , hey you are paying for it, so by all means when fully dressed just look in that mirror and feel your whole being go “WOW!!

Even better, is to develop trusted relationships with local CD/TG friendly “MUA’s”, (make up artists) and hopefully have built up your own wardrobe. Then, if and when you have the courage, (once the “MUA magician” has done his or her transformation) you can bid them goodbye and literally, “go to town” in your own clothes and take yourself wherever takes your fancy. Or have then accompany you out into the “big wide world” for a dinner or such like.

Those of us without an understanding spouse, may have to consider some kind of accommodation as your base for the above. IE Somewhere to go to get back to male mode before fronting “The Home Secretary”… Be super careful about make up removal!!!!  I scrub away like the face washer is a belt sander!!……

Reference to my public photos and articles on this site will provide ample evidence of the above.

“The above was an unpaid?? advertisement”, for an article on my “latest escapades” due to go up on this site this week. Well “Chapter 1” anyway…. “Chapter 2”,  later in the month.

      Happy (at a service) dressing

      Caty.

agreed with Caty!! I have had success at smaller local salons, becoming friends with two MUA over a short time, then gone out for drinks after the makeover.

Hi good for you that is something I always wanted to do, I have been cross dressing for 20 years, but due to my lack of confidence and other people’s perceptions, due to how the world is so judgemental to anyone who wants to be themselves this has always stopped me.
Unfortunately macclesfield (Cheshire) is very judgemental and clique and due to everyone knowing someone including myself 😞the chance of me venturing out as Penelope Lauren is very remote (unless it was somewhere private)
I know we don’t know each other but if we can get to be friends then hopefully it’s something we could do together but please don’t feel pressured.
      All the best p.l. x

Hi Jessy. As part of my week en femme I’m going for a five hour transformation service in London in a couple of days. I’m pretty new to all this and I understand your hesitancy. I’ve been describing my emotions as super excited, nervous, a bit embarrassed and somewhat confused.

But we deserve this girl. Get out there and GO! I can’t really see a down side if you can afford it.

I’ll post an update on my experience, and maybe a couple of pics.

      Hugs, Chrissie.

Where are you going, if you don’t mind me asking (you can rely via PM if you wish.) I went to Ms Lola and she was great. I hope to be in London in the fall and will go again if time and conditions allow.

Have fun, it is a great experience, and I recommend going out for awhile before undoing it all.

‘Boys will be girls’ is something I’m looking into (with all the pre-emotions you described – super excited, nervous, a bit embarrassed and somewhat confused), but their site gets blocked because of Malware.

How much did a five hour transformation cost?

Ellie I prefer not to talk money on the forum. It’s all on their website if you can get in. I will say it wasn’t cheap but if you can afford it, it’s a no brainer. It was worth every penny for me. What an absolutely fab day. Cindy very quickly put me at ease. Have a look at my previous post for a full description of my experience.

Have done a makeover in Vegas and the lady also did photos and instruction on female deportment.  Was best experience.  Total dressing service is a must on my list, especially with escorted times out.  England seems to have several of these, and someday hope to travel there.  My vote:  you absolutely have to DOIT!!!  Take advantage of every thing offered.

      Hey guys

I’d been about to start a thread about this myself, asking about peoples’ experiences of dressing services. It’s very definitely something that I want to do … when I finally pluck up the courage … and everyone’s responses on here have just cemented my resolve. It would be a scary thing to do on my own, I know that, but it just HAS to be on the bucket list.

From where I am in the UK, there are a couple of services in London and one in Brighton (though I think that’s relocating). The dream would be a service that offers a makeover, a night / meal out en femme (which would be my first time in public), and then back to the dressing service-run B&B to continue the experience by sleeping as a girl after all the fun. I guess, at some stage, it has to be done. Any particular recommendations?

Ms Lola in London can tick most of the boxes you mentioned except the last, as far as I know. You can stay anywhere en femme if you so choose, but I do not think she runs a B&B. Zoe I”Conor was great for my transformation, and while I did not schedule an evening out, I do believe that is an option.

Ellie, I would recommend going to a dressing service, but I enjoy going to a regular salon as well. I was treated just like any other girl. In both cases it was a lovely experience.

          Thanks Julie

I’ve done my research now and have identified what looks like a particularly good place. It would combine a makeover with a lengthy escorted outing en femme – I think the latter will be as transformative for me as the makeover!

This is on my bucket list. I went so far as to ask a makeup consultant at a local department store if he performed MTF makeovers?

I was planning to see him during a few days when my SO would be out of town, but chickened out. Subsequently, I purged most of my clothes and a cherished wig, for reasons I won’t go into.

I kick myself every time I think about it.

    • #753047

      Absolutely, go for it.
I’ve had two and am about to go for a third.
First was at Sophies.co.uk in plymouth and second at sugar and spiced near Southampton.

Both ladies were lovely and very encouraging. So nice to have conversations about improving your appearance and not about being a CD . Felt very relaxed and wished they lasted longer. Went out in public after the second one, probably a tad impulsive but thought the makeup was spot on.

Let us know how it goes !

The two I attended were in the Atlanta area. One lady passed away, but I think the other… Phoebe Cross… is still seeing clients, either for makeovers or for overnight stays. I think her studio is in McCullough. There are other makeup artists in that area. PM me if you’d like assistance on locating other services in the Southeast.

I have been to two such services and say absolutely “YES” to anyone considering it.
I had never applied makeup, been out dressed, and had only very minimal clothes, but wanted to do a “one-off” experience by visiting a Tri-Ess chapter. As it was a 600 mile round-trip I certainly did not intend to go just to observe. I would not have had the nerves or knowledge to go to a cosmetic counter for help or to shop for my own clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. A dressing service was, to my mind, my only option, but it was a GREAT one.

I stayed at a B&B, the home of a classy lady who had all the clothes I could need and a makeup studio where Rhonda was born. I could not believe that I could be passable. I had no intentions of going out in public, but within hours of my arrival was escorted to a fancy French restaurant, in elegant attire. The next day she took me shopping for my first dresses. By the time I met the group I felt I looked more feminine than the others. A member escorted me to a department store where a lady helped me pick my colors, but I stuck with the B&B proprietor’s choices. We became great friends. She effectively became my date (or I hers), taking me to nail salons, dinners out, art shows, and getting me comfortable mingling with her friends and going just about everywhere. She got me tools needed to fend for myself from then on, but until I felt I had mastered the craft I continued to stay at her B&B.

I found another B&B which included a converted garage, with the lower level packed solid with racks of clothes and a kitchen with stocked refrigerator. The attic was a bedroom with endless feminine garments, shoes, wigs, and everything else one could hope for, carefully arranged under the eves. There was a makeup area where she would apply her trade, after which she would do photo shoots- lingerie, and other attire. She also would take me out for shopping trips, nail salons, and restaurants.

Not only did I learn how to do makeup, but I made a great lifelong friend in each case, someone who I could enjoy doing girly things with. Another benefit was that each lady was a photographer, able to preserve precious memories for me of my early experiences.

This is not something one should be nervous about, but something that will overcome those fears by offering full acceptance and support and helping you see and be the best you can be. I never would have imagined I could pass in public, as I have very manly features which I did not think possible to disguise. But in each case I could not believe my eyes at what the artist was able to accomplish.

A supporting female is far more valuable than any biological male can ever be and a skilled makeup artist able to demonstrate that anyone can be far more feminine than they imagine possible does wonders for the ego! There is so much to gain… female companionship, acceptance, escort to help you locate clothes and other fem necessities, take you to nail salons, accompany you to wherever you want to go, offer good advice on makeup and application, colors, provide wigs, jewelry, shoes, clothes and everything else you need until you assemble your own wardrobe, lifelong friendship with someone who truly understands and encourages what you have long suppressed…this is absolutely a NO-BRAINER!!
