For my cosplay outfit to work I need shoes. I ordered 2 pair of Mary Janes from Amazon one ballet style the other heels. I live in the center of a shoe market, but no one stock any women’s size above 13. I needed a 14 according to size charts. I ended up ordering from Amazon, but it is taking 2 months to come in. I won’t know if size 14 will work out until they get here. At least Amazon has a good return policy.

Yumi,
Shoes are a pain for me too! I’m a 13, and even though I can sometimes find some that I like, they’re usually really pricey! I don’t have as many as I’d like because of that.
I have found that eBay usually has a lot of cute styles in 13+. Have you tried searching there?
Always,
Valerie

Lisa
there are a few shoe shops in the UK with larger sizes – ‘Saxon’ is one I seem to remember, and ‘Long Tall Sally’ (now on line)
However there is a specialist shop which does large sizes called ‘’Onlymaker’ which may be worth a try …https://www.onlymaker.com – they have a ‘plus size’ and ‘mens’ heels section !
alternatively you can buy a shoe stretcher to make them wider – it many work and worth a try – my partner has problems in that area and we have done that for a few shoes and have had some good results
Happy feet are important !
hugs

I see I’m not the only big-footed girl here. I even went to a plus-size fashion store. Only to discover 13 was as high as they stocked, plus being summer, all were open-toe or sandals. At all the other shops, of various pricing levels, I couldn’t even find a pair of 14s to try on.
And, looking for a particular style, Mary Janes, for that schoolgirl vibe.
Well we’ll see when they get here. I already have thigh-high socks.

You might check out Pleasers Brand, Pink Label for inexpensive larger sizes.

I feel your pain, Yumi, but can’t offer much help. I’m a 13 Wide; flats can be found in several places, even the Shoe Show stores in the malls. Heels are another matter, and if I can find them, the heel part of the shoe is usually too wide, and I tend to walk out of them unless they have ankle straps. FSJ shoes may have what you want, but they are expensive. Good luck.

Just found out that my shoes will be delivered today! Depending on when, it will affect my plans tonight.
Crossed fingers, crossed dressing.

Well, at least, part of my order came in. And happily, for the most part, they fit. But they only shipped the flats, so I left an inquiry through Amazon. So I’ll be getting dressed and stepping out.

YAY! 🙂
Hope so much they get to you on time, Yumi!!!

Check zulily. Great prices. They also sometimes promote wide calf sizes too.

Gurl…I have the same problem. Most CD shopping websites I have been on say I should be a size 13 minimum and more so a 14. It was too tiring going to each CD shopping website and seeing what shoes they had and if they had any in my size at that. So I broke down and just did a Google search for “women’s size 14 shoes”. Was able to use alot of filters to target the best shoes for me.
Also try:

https://largefeet.com/I have faith gurl that you, I and all the other size 13+ shoe gurls here at CDH will be just fine in finding shoes that we need/want.
Kisses…

Hi Yumi,
I see you’re in Ohio. Torrid carries wider shoe widths in 12 and 13. If there is a store near you check them out. Torrid is CD friendly and the associates know the inventory. If they don’t have your shoes in the store they can check the website and are happy to order an item. They’ll let you know when your order arrives and if the shoes don’t fit you can return them.

And the Torrid store in Easton was where I started looking, and the counterperson said 13s were the largest size they stocked.
Also, because of a old toenail fungus infection, open toes are a no no. At least for women’s shoes.

Hi Yumi,
Did you get to try on the 13’s at Torrid to determine if they fit? I’ve bought 11’s and 12’s there. They do carry closed toe shoes. The SA’s are very helpful too helping you find what you’re looking for.

Not when I visited the store in June.
On the shoes I got in, for the most the size 14 does fit, but a bit narrow. I didn’t have the option to order AA widths. And I may have to buy stretchers.
- July 21, 2021 at 12:27 pm #520831
I did revisit Torrid at Easton again today and it wasn’t as daunting as my first visit. And the SA was very helpful and I left with a complete outfit.
And a pair of shoes!
But only because they had a returned pair of 13WW flats. Which work with my outfit as well as my drab Skechers.

Hi Yumi,
That is great news the shoes fit. On your next visit ask the SA at Torrid for the style you want. They might have them on the website. Torrid SA’s have ordered items for me in sizes not available in the store. They’ll ship free to your home or the store. Join their rewards program and you’ll get some rewards on your birthday.

My next step is something with heals. And whether the Mary Jane pumps get here or I find and buy something else.
- July 21, 2021 at 3:52 pm #520935
Hi Yumi,
Keep looking. It’s great to have an item to try on. Often Torrid has promotions where you buy one clearance get one free. Sometimes buy one clearance get two free.

The size charts were good for me from the three sellers I’ve bought from on Amazon. But, even though 12.5-13 is right for me it doesn’t tell you that closed-toe pointy heels are painful for your only slightly shorter other toes. I wish I was brave enough to go to a physical store and try things on. So I have one pair that’s just for photos. I can wear them for about 10 minutes comfortably.

As I stated in another thread, I found out that I can wear a 13WW shoe, as the Torrid I was shopping at had a pair in returns. I placed my first online order with them for a pair of deck shoes and a chunky heel Mary Janes as well as some bras and panties. They just came in later this evening. And I only had a few minutes to try them on. The deck shoes fit and look to be very comfortable, and are for most casual going out situations.
The chunky heeled shoes….Oh yes, they fit. I took a walk down the hall just trying to get used to walking in them. I can feel different muscles being used all the way up to my glutes.
Any basics I should know?
- July 31, 2021 at 3:59 pm #525593
And no they didn’t. As I practiced, after viewing a couple videos, things started not feeling right. And I had on the deck shoes for a good portion of the morning before. But I was getting a blister on the back of my heels. I had the chunky heels on with the strap as tight as the holes allowed, and noticed a space as thick as my thumb between my foot and the shoe. And I had the same gap on the deck shoes.
The first 13s fit well, but that size didn’t carry over to a different style. So, I returned them an reorder size 12s. I’m having them delivered to the store so I could try them on there, before bringing them home.

I have the same problem as Bettylou 13 W work in the toes but are far to wide in the heel. Actually it is a problem for me in men’s shoes. Anyone know of a solution for that?

It’s weird, I wear an 11 in US women’s size , but I wear men’s size 10.5
- July 16, 2021 at 11:40 pm #518740
Lisa,
Try using American sizes instead. I order from eBay when buying shoes, and and they’re typically VERY honest about their sizing when from China. I guess they recognize there’s a LOT of x-dressers here. I’m a size 13 American.

Hi Lisa,
Yes, same problems here. Online doesn’t work for me – or hasn’t so far. I drove out to trawl shops in a retail park that I hadn’t checked out before. , but with a familiar outcome. No shoe sizes above (UK) 8. There were a few pairs of nice open sandals and flip flops I could just about imagine fitted, at a squeeze – but I want a ‘proper’ fit. it’s I’m coming to the conclusion it’s specialist shops or nothing.

I’ve had some success on Wish.com for shoes – always a bit of a gamble and the quality can be hit and miss, but you’re never spending much money, so even if they end up in the bin it’s not a huge financial hit 🙂
Fairly sure my thigh high boots came from Wish and I love them to bits… - July 31, 2021 at 2:21 pm #525551
Hope this is useful for you. I went shoe shopping with my wife yesterday at Wynsors World of Shoes (I was in male mode). I normally take a UK 10. Browsing round they had a section of EEE fit shoes on sale. Tried a 9 EEE round toe 3 inch heel black suede court shoe and it was a little too big, they had an 8 EEE and it fitted perfectly. They also had a pretty pair of open toe 3 inch heel sandals in the same size but a different brand which were on final reduction at £3 which also fitted and it would have been rude to leave behind. So I came away with two new pairs of shoes and was possibly just a bit giddy.
