So, I was a business trip and sometimes on these trips I am able to bring a second change of clothes…I think you all know what I mean. Β 😁
Well, this time was no different. Β Once at the hotel and in for the night, Β I began the process of making my self up and getting dressed. Β Transforming into Jennifer…and I looked pretty good too, if I do say so myself.Β  πŸ™‚
On a side note but still relevant, I usually get a room close to one of the side or back entrances of he hotel and on as close to the ground floor as possible.Β  This way I can “sneak” in and out of the hotel easily.
Anyway, I did exactly that. Β I left the hotel and got in the car and drove around a bit. I went over to An open air mall and walked around a bit and with it being dark out and still a bit cold, there usually only a few people around. Β This time was no different, so I did a little window shopping and then got back into my car and headed back to the hotel. Β All very normal and uneventful so far.
Now back at the hotel, and this time a had a room on the third floor right next to the staircase in the back of the hotel.Β  Nobody uses the staircase and the back of the hotel was deserted.Β  Perfect!Β  So I park and walk to the entrance of the hotel with my hotel key ready so I can into the building.Β  Well…here is where the real story begins.Β  The hotel key card does not work. OMG!Β  I tried and tried again to insert the key card so it would open the door.Β  I inserted it quickly and slowly and every way I could think of.Β  No good.Β  Now I am gettingΒ  bit nervous because I will need to go back to the front desk…as JEN…to get the key card re-keyed. And when you request a re-key, you have to show ID.Β  UGH!!
So I walk back close to my car, trying to think and figuring out how to get up the courage to go to the front desk.Β  While standing there, I still had the key card in my hand and in the better light, I realized I had the key card UPSIDE DOWN.Β  “Oh you’ve got to be kidding me!”, I said to myself.Β  So I quickly went back to the door and inserted the card and yahoo….it opened.Β  I walked up the stairs and to my room and the door opened and I went inside and flopped on the bed with my heart a pounding.
I know those key cards sometimes deprogram and I usually get two for that very reason… a backup.Β  But this time I had not done that.Β  Whew!Β  I escaped that one! Β That’s one way to get the heart pumping again.

      hugs
      Jen.

Hi, I think I mentioned before whilst at college ( the minidress days ) I drove one evening to a car park in the middle of town and had a walk window shopping. I even used the ladies loos and there were only a few people about. However on arriving back at the car I found no change in my purse to pay and lift the barrier. Yes that panic sets in and I had no choice but to walk along the main street for about a mile back to my accommodation in fortunately not too high heels and sneak up the stairs to my room. I was seen but no problem, that was a bit scary for my younger self.

Hi Jen .I can relate to the way that you were feeling when the card didn’t open the door .It happened to me almost the same way. I was trying to open the door at the end of the hallway that was near the parking lot and it wouldn’t work. I was locked out of the motel and I was in a panic. Luckily it was dark and I made my way across the parking lot to the other end of the motel and went to the side door and with my heart racing I tried the card in that door and it opened. But I still had to walk down the hallway past the front desk to get to my room. Again I was lucky because there were guests checking in and the front desk clerk was busy taking care of them and didn’t see me walk past the desk. That was the last time I left the motel without theΒ  backup card. Have a great day and keep on going out dressed en femme.

Well if it makes you feel any better I have been locked out and had to go to the front desk. Nice talk with the girl at the front who eventually got to know both me’s as well as hotel manager. They even got to know Carolyne by name and would talk to me like any other female guest. Got some good shopping tips on places with nice clothes and good prices. First time scared the bewillys out of me but then just became a normal regular female guest.

“Ouch” that could have been a very difficult situation indeed. Thankfully all went well. Just last year I to had a small bobo.. all dressed and rushing to leave my room I left without my card,Β  thank goodness they were cleaning rooms on my floor and the reason why IΒ  rush out so my room could get to Tidy up so the girl near was very nice to open my room asp.. still made contact with someone but with my embarrassment it went well. Yes in certainly raised my blood pressure too…

Jennifer I love that story I can totally relate to it even though it’s never happened to me I can imagine what you were thinking of having to go up there dressed as Jennifer but you know it’s funny it’s not too late seventies anymore people don’t really care most of them I mean if it was a girl at the front desk she would have probably just maybe raised an eyebrow but you would have treated you like the total woman that you are but I do understand getting nervous about it I used to be super nervous now I’ve got to the point to where I can almost not totally but almost say I am who I am so deal with it LOL kisses Jasmine 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋

I am a regular at a self contained apartment accomodation chain in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. Last year I was down there for a two night stay and went shopping as Catherine.. Had a lovely time, but when I got back to the place my keycard would not lift the underground car park barrier. So out comes the receptionist to let me in…

I think the whole staff know about itbut being the true professionals they are have never said anything since.

Keys that do not work are one of the scariest things, no matter how you are dressed!

That’s totally something that would happen to me. Glad you made it back into the hotel “unscathed”!

don’tΒ  know why your so worried about being seen. you were dressed, you were in a different town and no one really cares that you dress. i checked in to a hotel dressed and stayed there 2 nights on a 3 day weekend trip. i had breakfast in the dinning room and no one bothered me. i went to 2 concerts that weekend dressed. i left my house dressed and left my man clothes home. it was going to be my girl weekend. i got my nails painted at the salon on the way there. went to the casino and two concerts that weekend, stayed in the hotel 2 nights. had a good time. stopped at a mall on the way home and got my ears pierced and bought some shoes. im not even totally passable. i meet 2 woman at the concert and they talked to me and we danced around in our seats. i meet more people dressed and never had a problem with anyone. dont know why more cds dont go out.

Gotta love a funny story with a happy ending! I do the same when I get the chance to travel, now that I’m retired those opportunities are very limited. I always stayed at the same hotel near the airport so it was convenient. Made even more convenient by the fact that there is a Trans friendly gay bar within walking distance. I almost missed an early morning flight because I stayedΒ at that bar until closing (2 AM). That’s a story for another time.

one scary time i had was when i went to the beach in a bikini. it was a warm afternoon i walked the beach for 4 or 5 miles in my bikini. no one bothered me. it was getting later in the day and there was an arcade off the beach. i like to play games so what the heck. i went in and played for a while. it was thursday. every thursday they shoot off fireworks on the beach. it was getting dark so i decide to go back to my truck. i was walking up the road and saw hundreds of people coming towards me. where were they going? to the beach to watch the fireworks. i was a little scary walking through the crowd in a bikini. a few people said something, but i just kept walking. made it back ok. was a little nervous for a while, but everything turned out ok.

That is definitely a fear invoking, heart pounding situation. Glad it went well and you got an adventure and story out of it.
