I as you can see am plus sized so I need my plus sized GG counterparts to respond to this. I feel like I am doing an okay job at choosing the right plus sizes that would fit my body as well as the right outfits that fit my fashion style. But, I like alot of GG need outfit help. I have been pounding the pavement trying to find a fashion stylist in my area who is willing to work on Trans/CDs. I have yet to find a stylist but I have a fashion designer who I will keep for as long as possible (If any of you want I will give you her IG privately)!! So should I keep looking for a Trans/CD friendly fashion stylist? Also on a side note I really would like a mentor helping me with my total journey. She can be Trans, CD, or GG. This is the best place yet I have seen to find a GG who would be interested in something like that. So ANY GGs here on CDH that would like to be that Mentor type to me please message me privately!

      Thank You All!

      Dear Quinetta.

As a ‘plus’ size shopper, I consider my size as normal. Healthy, without flabby bits.

You have a fashion stylist? OK, I read that you’re fairly new to dressing female. Right away, some try to dress sexy/slutty for personal pleasure. Not a good look outside the home. Going out in public requires finding styles that not only fit you, but also your personality.

Not to pigeonhole you into separate, jeans, skirts or dress choices. Form fitting or looser, high fashion brand names or Walmart/Target brands. Every option can be yours, done tastefully. Then the accessories! Earrings, rings, and bangles!

Thank you Eileen for your response and advice. She is a fashion designer actually, not a fashion stylist per-say. I usually go to her to do alteration to turn “his” clothes in to my clothes. And maybe alter one of my clothes as well. She just does not have the time to be my stylist because she is busy making outfits for others here in Houston. So I do need a legitimate fashion stylist to help me pull all the things together. I should have mentioned what my style was, because I definitely do not go down that slutty route. My style is a mixture of Torrid, the SHEIN Curve that is as close to Torrid style, and the Fashion Nova Curve that is as close to Torrid style. I am not against getting quick pieces from Target as well. I love the large hoop earrings (silver and gold) and the bangles. Aloha Earrings is my new go to for earrings!

That’s great that you have someone to do alterations. You are at a disadvantage not dressing female all your life. Developing a style that you feel comfortable with is your challenge.

Everyone likes a second opinion, unless it’s negative, but I wouldn’t rely on someone else to guide how I dress. Good to hear that you prefer fashionable and classy, however, dressing to the nines every day is exhausting. Sometimes a casual look is just as satisfying to go out and blend in.

I’m not sure of Torrid or Shien plus size selections. I’m more of a Kohl’s or Penny’s gal. Terri is still shy of in store try ons, she loves Serengeti Fashions. Mind you, we are both 65 this year.

Terri is 100% with you on hoops! Any kind that has some weight and sway as a constant reminder that she’s wearing earrings.

          Hugs, Eileen
