Watching the film Bohemian Rhapsody one line struck me.
Farrokh Bulsara’s dad told him after Farrokh changed his name:
‘you can’t get anywhere in life pretending to be somebody your not’
Oh how wrong his dad was. He became his own real wonderful self, breaking free, and in the process enriching the lives of millions with his voice.
Let your true self shine, life’s too short not to.
RIP Freddie

RIP Freddy… indeed! My wife adores him. We ALL have different names chosen by us or by others. A name is really more important than just about anything I know appearance wise. I learnt that by changing a vital aspect of my appearance as a teenager… I bought my own style of spectacles! I paid the optometrist to convery a pair of Ray Ban Aviators into specs and I had a raft of girlfriends within a week of putting them on for the first time.
I’ve always had faith that my mother had her heart in the right place when she named me so I resisted changing it in any way but now I am Polly Stewart… well things have changed and I can be who I am for the first time.RIP Freddy et al
