Even as a boy, I thought girl’s clothing was more interesting than boy’s clothing. I dabbled with crossdressing in my early 20’s trying on my sisters’ clothes — but didn’t take it very far because very little fit me. Eventually my attention turned to my career — getting my degree and teaching at a university. So my crossdressing laid dormant for decades. But the itch never totally went away. When I retired, I realized that the time was right to try my hand at crossdressing again. Except this time I got serious. The internet provided me with women’s apparel that actually fit me — and delivered it to my front door. YouTube taught me how to apply makeup and other tricks to feminize my appearance. And I had the time and freedom to experiment. The result is that I was able to create Angela, a woman whose beauty and femininity exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m sorry if that sounds vain, but I’ll never forget the first time I saw her in the mirror, fully realized, staring back at me. What a rush! If only my 20-something self could see me now! I joined Crossdresser Heaven about three months after I got back into crossdressing, and it changed my life. The support and love I feel from this community has given me the confidence and courage to take my crossdressing to the next level. I now go out in public as Angela — something that I honestly thought I would never do when I began my crossdressing journey. So what’s next? Going shopping with my CDH friends, a professional makeover, and a convention or two. Stay tuned.

Thanks, Gemma. The outfit really was surprisingly comfortable. Which really helps when you’re traipsing from store to store, checking out every aisle looking for just the right something.

the feeling, and isn’t it good? Moreover, I am thinking of cruising the stores
myself this Saturday and wearing a bright orange long-sleeve sweater dress. We’ll
see, domestic duties first.

Thank you, Peggy Sue. Your input all those many months ago was important to me. At the time, I had only gone out in public once or twice as Angela, and never to shop. Much as I liked this outfit, I wasn’t necessarily thinking about it as something to wear out and about. But your suggestion made me think — yes, this is an outfit I would be comfortable with in public. And so I have been patiently waiting for the day when I could wear it going shopping. And it finally happened this week.
Hi Angela, it looks to me as though department stores are your natural habitat because you blend in so well. If passing as a lady browsing through stores was your aim, then you have achieved that well!

I finally found a Sephora near me that does makeovers. I am going there today to see if the MUA is Pretty and Open to helping me.
I can’t wait to hear all about it! I have a Sephora near me as well. I’m very curious to learn what your experience with them is like.
Oh, I have had makeovers there before and loved it. But the last time I was there the MUA (who told me she loved me on the first visit) flipped out when I tapped her but and accused me of SPANKING HER. I would never do such a thing and she kind of turned me off of that Sephora. I went to a Sephora a similar distance away yesterday and got some Channel #5 in male mode and I have to go back en femme and see how they react and also to make sure the MUA I get is… Read more »

Thank you, Sophia. Those black patterned stockings were actually a last-minute decision. My pantyhose got a run in them, so I had to switch to those. But I think it was a happy accident, because I really like the way they look.
