I’m considering buying a plumping lipgloss, but are seriously in doubt about if they really works or not. I’m considering a gloss with among other ingredient have chili in it and some other irritants.

Anyone here who has tried a plumping lipgloss and did it give You a more pouty mouth and fuller lips ?

I have, in both homemade and commercial variations.  I can tell you that while they felt and tasted good (I’m something of a culinary masochist) the effect was minimal and went away quickly.  If you’re looking for a more dramatic effect I’d recommend one of the various suction-type devices on the market (I picked up a cheap rubber one that’s sort of like a suction cup).  Word of warning though: a little goes a long way, and it’s certainly possible to give yourself a lip hickey that will be very hard to explain in guy-mode if you keep it on too long.  The plumping will last for a couple hours so plan accordingly.

I have never found them to plump my lips.

I got one when I bought my wife the “better than sex” mascara made by Too Faced, the lip plumper came with the mascara as a bonus for Christmas, so we both tried it. I don’t think it did anything more than make our lips tingle for about a day, I didn’t notice any plumping. I still yet need to try the mascara sometime, you know, to see for myself if it is indeed better than sex. I have a feeling that it isn’t. Haha.

I have some Buxom plumping gloss.  It works a little for a couple of hours.  I believe the capsaicin it contains is the active ingredient.  No gloss will give you the pillowy lips seen on Insta dolls.  For that you have to be genetically blessed or get a cosmetic procedure.

The claims about these products are generally over hyped. The only real things that work are fillers or a smack in the mouth, one more expensive than the other and have to be done right to get an even result..

LOL Angela, I’ll go for a smack in the mouth, these days one has to save money.

Both can give you a pouty lip but a lip liner will do the same thing.

With the lip liner you are applying above the lip line.

It will give the illusion of bigger lips.
