Hi everyone
I’ve been crossdressing in one way or another my whole life but I’m really trying to embrace it and enjoy it now I’m an adult. I do struggle sometimes to accept that I enjoy and that it’s a part of me so I thought joining this community and talking to like minded people would help. I look forward to speaking to you all and hearing your stories 🙂

Hi Jessy welcome to CDH it’s nice to meet you we are like one big happy family on here so don’t be shy come on in and join the family, I’m a mature crossdresser I’ve been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister’s lingerie on, I think we have all been where you are felt the shame of dressing up but how can it be shameful if it makes you happy, I’m a UK girl too I’m in Shropshire, I’m sure there are lots of girls near to where you live who will be happy to meet up with you for a coffee and a chat I’m sure you will find lots of friends on here so if you have any questions just ask and the girls will get back to you, there are lots of girls on here from beginner’s to full time girls who dress 👗 24/7 we don’t judge anyone on here it’s a safe place for everyone X 🎀

I feel for you. I’ve been the same as you and I’m 62 now. I was a single dad for many years…no dressing..remarried when my daughter was a teen..no dressing except on business trips… Wife left me after 25 years of marriage. I dressed on the sly when we were married, but now that I’m alone, I dress daily. Semi retired. Mornings are my favorite time. You’ll find your flow, just don’t be ashamed. It’s okay. It’s a natural way of letting your feminine side ease your mind. Whatever you do, be at peace with letting your other side out once in awhile. It’s good for the soul. I find I’m a more balanced and “at peace with the world” type person now that I can be Jenny when I want.

Keep in mind that life is short. I have been dealing with my “other side” for all my life. Due to circumstances of my own choosing, I have had to suppress Jenny all my life. Now I’m 62 and living alone and sure do miss all the years when I was younger and more youthful and how much more beautiful I could have been if I just chose a different path. I’ve some regrets in life, but I chose my path and still have had a pretty good life. The winter of 2022/2023 was particularly difficult. Wife of 25 yrs. left right before Christmas and 2 months later my little buddy dog passed away. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever lived alone. It’s a time for Jenny to shine! For every door that closes, a new one opens.
You’ll be fine as long as you just say “screw it”, I’m who I am and I love me!

This was sooo wonderful for me to read. (Not your losses or regrets. I am sorry you’ve had to have these experiences.) I am 61, recently divorced after 20 years. Have struggled with identity since 5’th grade and just needed to know I am not the only person with feelings of femininity. Thanks for sharing of yourself. Michelle

We are all different, but in my case, my life became so much simpler and better, when I just accepted the fact that I liked to dress because it was enjoyable. I really do not need a reason beyond that. Many things in life bring us pleasure, and we don’t second guess ourselves as to why, so why not do the same with dressing?

Welcome. Sorry to hear about your struggles. Given the social stigma associated with crossdressing, and the particularly hostile attitudes exhibited in some segments of society of late, your difficulty in accepting this part of yourself is totally understandable. I presume you are a relatively young adult, so perhaps you are also still bearing a bit of the fear of discovery that plagues most of us as teens.
One of the great aspects of acheiving personal Independence is the opportunity to explore with less fear of discovery and judgement. Perhaps you have even settled in a community that affords some geographic separation from those people you would rather not find out, at least not just yet. But even 1000 miles won’t free you completely from the shame that we each have had baked in since early childhood. That takes time and effort…in my case, almost 70 years of effort!
I think, based on a randomized sample consisting of me, that the way to overcome those ingrained feelings of doubt and shame is to begin incorporating your feminine side in your everyday life, within and outside your home. This means growing the confidence needed to step out that door into real life.
And what better way to begin than working on your presentation. I don’t know what you have in terms of the basics, if you are lacking in any of the following, definitely invest in breast forms, hip pads, and shareware; and then, some help selecting a wardrobe that suits your age, body type and the places you like to go. Strive to blend in with other women and you will find it much easier to relax and have fun, (plus you’ll spare yourself the expense and chagrin associated with inevitable poor clothing selections). Definitely go to Ulta (for example) for help in choosing and applying makeup, and go to a wig shop or salon and get some professional help in selecting a wig in a style and color that suites you.
Then practice getting yourself together. Before long, you’ll feel greater confidence in your appearance and be ready to start taking small steps out of your comfort zone. While a lot of people do this by venturing out at night, I would advise against it. Daylight is your friend. I’d suggest going back to the cosmetic store as trial run. Then suck it up and visit a mall or coffee shop.
Expect to be read. Sometimes you will be, but its OK. I promise there will only be a few people who notice and most who do will smile. Just smile back. On the rare occasion you might hear some uncomplimentary comment uttered behind your back, just let it go. Concentrate on enjoying the feeling of new-found freedom and actively search for new places to visit!
After you have gotten a few solo forays under your belt, you may want to start looking for a local CD meet-up group. Start thinking about who you might want to come out to among your friends, particularly female friends. I promise you, your strongest allies will be found among female friends. And once that bridge is crossed, your world of experiences will really start to expand.
Have fun! I confess a bit of envy. I wish I was at the beginning of my journey as a transgender person, rather than nearing the end.
