This photo is kind of a follow-up to my article on why passing matters...It's fairly well established that one of the keys to passing is dressing correctly for the occasion. That is, don't go running errands on Saturday morning dressed up like Dr. Frank N. Furter from Rocky Horror! I've spent most of time and effort, from clothes to makeup to hair, trying to achieve a casual "girl next door look." (Ok, I know 49 doesn't quite count as a girl anymore, but I never got to be one in real life - so cut me some slack!) This is likely the best "casual" look I've managed yet. The heeled boots may be a bit much, but they're definitely better than strappy stilettos for running errands. Otherwise, nothing screams "me" more than a Pink Floyd t-shirt and skinny jeans. What are some of your favorite causal looks? Any go-to items? Share below! xxoo Lexi

Success! You achieved the “trans girl next door look!” I’m with you percent girlfriend about learning to fit in to the occasion. I have clothes and accessories for every occasion from sleeping to eating out to shopping to playing tennis!

Great look. I just bought a pair of sandals (the first ones) for that reason. To find my grocery store look…

Hi Alexis: You look terrific. I don’t get to dress often but when I do I try to achieve a certain look, whether it is to the grocery, a night out, or to church on Sunday.

Hi Lexi
You look absolutely great and so so casual. Since I’ve started to explore the great outdoors I’m also having to re-think my wardrobe but I’m finding it just as much fun as finding that perfect LBD.
you have definitely nailed the casual look and the boots are a perfect match.
Stephanie ❤️

Isn’t that funny? I used to be so convinced it was all about the sexy clothes, but I’m really digging the “cute and casual” lately…

Yes you blend in very well. I like a denim skirt with low heel booties when I venture out. You look wonderful!!

I can’t agree more Alexis – wearing clothes that suit the space is such fun. There is nothing more feminine than feeling comfortable and happy while being well dressed. Love going out to the mall in nice jeans, beautiful top and, yes, low heels or flats. Let’s face it, how far will you make it in those gorgeous 5″ stilettos? Keep those on hand for the night on the town. Being 6’1 brings some attention so I make sure everything is perfect when they look – and I love it!

Agreed, I enjoy wearing riding boots with jeans for a casual look, that way the top could be a anything from a sweatshirt to a nice blouse and blazer
