A Hodgepodge Submission
The other day I visited a Sephora store near me. I normally buy my cosmetics from Estee Lauder. The reason I decided to go to Sephora was because of their support for the transgendered community. This year I attended the First Event conference in Massachusetts and the Keystone conference in Pennsylvania. At both of those conferences, Sephora held presentations. They expressed their support for the transgendered community and welcomed us to shop their locations. So I said to myself let me show my support back.
I went to the Sephora store; the way I was treated had me leaving happy. There were two women who saw me looking around and asked if they could be of help to me. I told them my story about giving back, and one of them offered to help. I ended up getting a full makeover. It was one of the nicest makeovers I’ve ever gotten. She was so nice and not at all pushy about me purchasing any items.
I knew that makeovers are free with a $50 purchase. I bought a great foundation which cost $52. She and another person, I think they were both managers, explained about the store’s free makeup classes and also a class specifically for transgendered individuals. I gave them my information, and they said they would send me the information for the classes. I have been going out in public a long time, and I have to rate this as one of my top 10 experiences. If there is a Sephora near you, I suggest that you check it out. I believe we should support those who support us.
The photo of me is after the makeover.
Sephora is wonderful. Got a mocha blush, a charcoal mask. Definitely want to take the transgender class when it’s offered in my city.
Lovely experience Terri. Unfortunately the Sephora in our town doesn’t offer makeup classes at all.
Terri you look great and thank you for sharing your experience…. I am assuming the Sephora is in a nearby
Shopping mall… I have to visit sometime. Regards
Leonara
Leonora , i went to the one in roosevelt field. Next time I go i am going to make an appointment.
Terri, wonderful story.
Wish I would of met you at Keystone. Or maybe I did! Was a great event. I took the two makeup classes that the two women from MAC put on. They were so cute and excellent. I didn’t go to the Sephora class. I am going to look into our local Sephora for a class.
Thanks
Terri, your story has inspired me to check out the Sephora counter at my local mall. (I’ve been looking for professional help for this). I have a granddaughter who buys all of her makeup there.
Hugs,
Bettylou
They did a nice job on your makeover!
Thank you , She asked me how I wanted my makeup done. I think she was one of the managers. It was a nice experience.
I wish a sephora was near me….
Wow! If you are 69 Yo then I’m 39! You look beautiful, happy and at peace. I’d see a Cis gendered female and never question it.
Danielle
Thanks Danielle, you know us girls love hearing that lol.
Yes I do and if Sephora can make me look half as good count me in!
That’s fantastic I don’t think Sephora will do classes in Aus, but my two girls love shopping there
I to saw that online, about Sephora. As do i agree, so nice of them to reach out to us girls, as are their lines of cosmetics, truly a delight. Couldn’t agree more than giving backto other’s, for whom show their support for us, mean so much more.
