Even as a boy, I thought girl’s clothing was more interesting than boy’s clothing. I dabbled with crossdressing in my early 20’s trying on my sisters’ clothes — but didn’t take it very far because very little fit me. Eventually my attention turned to my career — getting my degree and teaching at a university. So my crossdressing laid dormant for decades. But the itch never totally went away. When I retired, I realized that the time was right to try my hand at crossdressing again. Except this time I got serious. The internet provided me with women’s apparel that actually fit me — and delivered it to my front door. YouTube taught me how to apply makeup and other tricks to feminize my appearance. And I had the time and freedom to experiment. The result is that I was able to create Angela, a woman whose beauty and femininity exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m sorry if that sounds vain, but I’ll never forget the first time I saw her in the mirror, fully realized, staring back at me. What a rush! If only my 20-something self could see me now! I joined Crossdresser Heaven about three months after I got back into crossdressing, and it changed my life. The support and love I feel from this community has given me the confidence and courage to take my crossdressing to the next level. I now go out in public as Angela — something that I honestly thought I would never do when I began my crossdressing journey. So what’s next? Going shopping with my CDH friends, a professional makeover, and a convention or two. Stay tuned.
Yes to the glasses, yes to the dress, and YES to the beautiful woman stepping out in the world with fresh new specs, and viewing the world through the lens of Angela. Gemma, I value everybody’s opinion at CDH. But, my bestie, I value your opinion the most. I know you will always be totally honest with me. So if you think I look good wearing these glasses, I really have to take that to heart. But do you really like these particular glasses? I ask because I’m not wild about them. That’s because they are HIS glasses, if you know what I mean. I’m probably biased because of that, but these glasses don’t look feminine to me. A girl needs options. I say get a new pair that are a style you prefer Angela, and on occasion when you desire wear his and show him that you can make them look better than he ever could. I can see larger maybe rounder frames that show off your eyes.
Oh, I definitely rock his glasses better than he does. And he knows it. And I agree with you about the larger frames. But rounder? If I actually get glasses, I’ll be going in a different direction than that.

Glasses can be very good indeed – Sophia Loren often wore them! Besides if you are a glasses wearer (as i am) and you are out and about they are essential. I don’t wear them en femme, but I find I’m always reaching into my purse and putting on my regular male glasses just to read the price on some clothing, which pretty much compromises the presentation. So, one of my next purchases is going to need to be a good looking pair of women’s glasses, I hope I can find ones as nice as you have here! ❤… Read more »
Thank you, Kris — this is actually super helpful. I’m weighing two options. One option is just to concede that I need glasses and wear them full-time. That’ll be my look — a woman who wears glasses. But you represent the second option. My look will be a woman who doesn’t wear glasses, and I’ll just put them on when I need to. Such as when I’m driving, or going to a movie. Two very viable options, and I am still deciding which one to choose. Again, really helpful feedback.

Angela, I think you look great in glasses and as you can see I wear the in my pictures as well. Also my male counterpart agrees withe me.
I know that many of the fabulous ladies of CDH wear glasses, such as yourself. And I must confess that I never think to myself “Oh, she would look better without glasses”. Everybody looks great.

Angela, I think you look great in glasses. I also know that it adds a little different dimension to our fashion choices. Several I know, including myself, don’t necessarily have to wear glasses, but for a different look now and again, add glasses for the sake of what I like to call “The Chameleon Effect”. Lol.
That’s not a bad idea. I’m still debating with myself whether to go with glasses full-time as my new look, or just wear them occasionally as you suggest. I wear sunglasses in some of my photos — maybe I’ll just swap the sunglasses for eyeglasses. I’m still weighing my options.
I think the glasses are fine, Angela, and that is an awesome dress. You look absolutely fabulous, so why are you not smiling? Forgive me if that is a smile but it’s hard to tell. Anyway, beautiful presentation, as always.

The glasses look just fine. A chance to accessorize now!
I’ve had a few of you now mention that I can accessorize around my glasses. I must confess, accessories are a weakness of mine. I have very little experience or fashion sense in that area. But if I can figure how to accessorize, it might make wearing glasses worth it. Something to think about.

Thanks, Roz. As Gemma pointed out, this is the first dress I ever bought and it’s what I wore for my first CDH photo. It IS a wonderful dress. I figured that if I’m going to put myself out there wearing glasses for the first time, I might as well be wearing something fabulous.
