Nope! If they’re not women’s bras; I don’t want them. The same goes for panties, leggings, skirts, dresses, or any feminine clothing.
Yes, there are bras made for men. And yes, men’s bras might be a better fit for a male body. Panties for men might fit your package better. Leggings might also be easier to find in your size if they were designed for men.
But what many non-crossdressers fail to understand, and even those beginners in crossdressing, is that what satisfies our need to wear women’s clothing is exactly that—it’s clothing designed for WOMEN, not for men. Otherwise, it wouldn’t truly be considered crossdressing, would it? Being feminine is important, but it’s not enough. The clothing must be specifically designed for women, with sizes, colors, and styles that only women would wear!
Bras and panties for men don’t work. At all! Even if they fit better or are more comfortable, even if their appearance is crafted to be more feminine.
When I initially began wearing women’s panties, many years ago, I sought out panties with a wider gusset to securely accommodate my testicles without them falling out the sides of a narrow-gusseted panty. While they may be more challenging to find, they do exist. Some women also prefer a wider gusset. It’s perfectly fine if that suits your requirements.
But one day, I had a realization. It was the narrow-gusseted panties, the ones that felt like they were strangling me at times, the ones that were uncomfortable to wear, and the ones that made keeping things in place harder, those are the ones that truly fulfilled my craving for women’s lingerie. The discomfort served as a constant reminder that I was wearing panties designed for women, not traditional men’s underwear like briefs or boxers.
Most bras designed for men are intended for a very flat chest, typically double-A or even triple-A cups. While these bras may be comfortable and can be discreetly worn under most shirts or tops, they lack the “Crossdressing vibe” that is characteristic of women’s bras found in department stores, Victoria’s Secret, or bra boutiques. Additionally, since men’s bras are rarely designed to be worn with breast forms, they do not provide the feminine-shaped bosom that women’s bras with larger cup sizes offer.
Women’s bras designed for use with breast forms are a great option for many crossdressers. These bras come in various sizes and materials, allowing you to achieve the feminine shape you desire. When I first started wearing bras, I chose this route. I bought expensive silicone forms in three different sizes so that depending on my mood, the activity I was engaged in, or the bra, I wanted to wear, I could select the most appropriate size. The small forms were suitable for wearing anywhere, while the large forms were not discreet, and I rarely wore them outside of my home. However, they provided me with voluptuous, realistic-looking breasts that jiggled under my top and were enjoyable to wear.
My favorite was the medium-sized forms, which could even be used with bras that didn’t have a pocket for the forms. Depending on the clothes I wore, I could often wear them discreetly. It’s interesting how most people only see what they expect to see. When they look at a man, they see a flat chest, even if it’s slightly curvier. At first, I was amazed that no one noticed my obviously larger-than-normal breasts for a man. Then I realized that they were more noticeable to me than to anyone else. If you behave the same way while wearing them as you do when you’re not, it’s very likely that no one will notice. Well, except perhaps another crossdresser, but that’s okay, isn’t it?
As I aged and gained weight, my natural breasts, enhanced by gynecomastia, also grew larger (so gaining weight isn’t entirely negative). Now, I am fortunate to have breasts that are big enough to fill a 46B cup in most styles of women’s bras without the need for forms. I also noticed that I enjoyed wearing a bra much more when I didn’t wear forms, even if my breasts were smaller and less noticeable. It was all me. It felt different and was much more satisfying.
That wouldn’t happen if I were wearing a bra designed for a man. At least not for me.
Additionally, when I’m at a doctor’s appointment and the doctor or medical assistant sees my bra (which happens regularly at the cardiologist’s office, for example), I appreciate that they can see it’s my natural body shape filling out the bra, rather than a prosthetic or padding.
I do not mean to criticize other crossdressers who are content wearing feminine-styled clothing designed for men, and I am not trying to discourage other crossdressers from using breast forms — not at all. I appreciate the designers and manufacturers who create those products because they validate the experiences of many men who feel the need to dress as women, regardless of their style preferences.
However, for me, the key point is this: if the items are not women’s bras, panties, or any other clothing specifically designed and made for women, they do not suit my needs. I need the real thing…
I feel the same as you Trace. I have spent too much time locking away my femineity to make any compromises. I’m looking forward to the day when my entire wardrobe is feminine and I can live authentically 24/7/365. In the meantime, its lace, floral patterns, and pastel colors every second I can!
Hello, my 2 cents worth. I grew up wearing womens clothes. Clothes for men made to look like womens just did not excite me.
I have sports bras and nice tee shirt bras. I use the padding that comes with them to fill out them out. It is fun.
I tend to agree with you, I want to wear women’s clothes though the truth is I’ve never tried lingerie for men and maybe it would be nice too.
Right now I don’t have breasts so I use breast forms, which fits a 38C bra, but I’d love to have real ones! Perhaps at some point in the future.
I’m with everyone on this topic, unless its a “proper" femme brand of bras/ lingerie, I am not interested. Am Australian company (Homme Mystere) was quite successful earlier on with “lingerie designed for men" But as I look at their website these days, they are really struggling, with lots… of pieces on sale. Same again for another much smaller company. Hi girls, there are several companies that advertise right here on CDH and TGH, who make feminine fashions and lingerie designed to fit the male physique. I actually ordered several things from one of them. I was quite disappointed. The fabric was cheap and the items were very baggy, so it was money down the drain as the items went straight into the garbage. I am an intersex person, and when puberty happened my body went in the wrong direction for an AMAB person. I have to agree with all. I have a couple of “male” g strings but it is the experience for me of wearing the other sexes clothing. Some is the initial hope it fits them the feeling as you put them on and hopefully for me the transformation. I am not public about my cross dressing I underdress daily and walk around thinking am I wearing better ones than you when out. Also my wife brought me some ladies underwear for Xmas which wouldn’t occur wearing the made for men option
Boringly enough, I also agree that I wouldn’t bother with ‘lingerie for men’.
The only bras for men that I have seen, so far, are in sets with little skirts. Light blue and pink in checked colour.
I would neither buy nor wear them.
