Do you crossdress to blend in or stand out?

Dear Readers,

I’m delighted today to share a guest article from a lovely lady on the East Coast. Her fabulous style is matched only by the charming and witty writing she does at SXYCDGRL. Please welcome her to Crossdresser Heaven, and share your thoughts in the comments below!

Do you dress to pass and blend?

Or do you dress to stick out ? What is your goal when you are crossdressing ?

Adriana is confident out dressed

For me, I guess it is a little bit of both, it just depends on the occasion. Where am I going ? Is it out into the vanilla world ? Or am I going to a wild CD/TG party ?

Visit Transgender Heaven

If it is out into the “real world” I do my best to basically blend in, I take my cues from real women.  When out in public I feel the need to “represent” our community the best way that I can , so I dress accordingly & appropriate for the venue, weather, etc.  I keep it simple, like this picture taken on a trip up to Boston, just some leggings, a plain tee,  jacket & minimal accessories. I guess you could call that my “blend mode” When I am out dressed like this, I know I am not drawing any unwanted attention and I am confident. Dressing in what you “feel good” in seems to always win for me. If I’m not feeling right, it’s time for a wardrobe change.

Sometimes though I really want to let my girl flag fly high, and I will have a little fun. Especially if I am headed to a big CD/TG event and I know the gals are going to be dressed for a good time.

Like this pic, taken at one of the big CD/TG Events in New Hope Pa called Raven. Here the gals throw an “Oscar Style”  red carpet party, some dress to the nines in gowns, yet others will come in almost full fetish gear. So to me this seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally wear that Tu Tu Skirt I bought. And it’s a CD/TG party so why not have fun with it right? I edged up the outfit with a bold colored moto jacket, and my favorite chunky heeled combat boots to give me a funky grunge look.  This is something I would never actually wear out in public, so sometimes at these events I like to push the envelope a bit. Am I belnding ?? Not at all. And there I guess it does not matter anyway, the point is to have fun at these events.

So in the end, I guess it depends on where you are going, and what you are doing. I cant tell you what to wear, but I can say that when you step out the front door, you are representing  me, you, and our entire community so do us all proud and leave the fishnets at home when your headed to the mall. When you go out in public do you dress to blend in ? Or stick out ?? Ad your comments to the comment section xoxo.

I LOVE this! I just want to blend, honestly. I LOVE “jeans and a T-shirt” kind of look. Simple, fun and just wanting to live life.

I aim to blend. If I get ‘spotted’ I feel I’ve done something wrong, ..missed something. I try to be as passible as possible’ at all times. I actually don’t like to get noticed, it makes me feel cheap and I feel awful about it, I prefer to move freely and not garner any attention.. It’s – Then – that I know I’ve got it ‘right’

When I go shopping I dress to blend in, all my clothes are womens when I go out, either shopping or lunch, even to the Dr. I dress very conservative, jeans or pants, always have my bra and panties on too, I have blouses that aren’t so noticeable, but still womens. Plus I found some really cute ankle boots with a 3.75 heel, u wear those all the time, even with my wife, she loves them too. Something funny happened last week, I was going out with my wife I grabbed a shirt, and I couldn’t button it because I… Read more »

Love the article. I just want to blend, I am a country girl so I dont really try to get to over the top with clothes mostly jeans and blouses but sometimes with jewelry I might wear too much, (just cant help it). Plus I’m 6’1 and love wearing my boots or heels which make me 6’3, so not a small girl, but I do just want to be presentable and represent all of us when I do venture out.

Hi Adriana,

You blend in very well and look so natural.

I also like to blend in, but don’t look so natural as you.

Yes, I am just an old crazy man. Simply said, I don’t give a damn about what others think. If I’m going to be seen, create a scene. 99 percent of the time, I’m wearing my prettiest outfit or whatever feels most comfortable that day, with a huge, massive beard and chest hair sticking out everywhere. That is just me being me and my normal obnoxious self.

I dress for “ME" and only “ME" and not “OTHERS". I am not here to impress anyone. Life is too short

Like most of my sisters here we all try to blend in with the public and wear what other women have on.  I do love dressing up sexy but only for venues like tg events or private parties. Mostly in blouses and skirts and sweater dresses in winter and cotton summer dresses when warm and of course jeans and girlie tops. My nails are always painted with moderate use of makeup. I just want to be a woman and relating to others as such when in public
